Fun at the lake

This is a model lifeboat made by a mate of mine during the long winter lockdown. It is a highly accurate representation of a Shannon class lifeboat operating off the UK coastline. All the detail he has built himself from blueprints and it was lovely to spent a few hours with him this morning at the local boating lake putting her through her paces.

    1. They are indeed John. Because we have so much coastline shipping, small craft and people are often getting into trouble. Luckily we have the Royal National Lifeboat Institute ( RNLI ), a charity that saves thousands of lives at sea each year. All the operatives are volunteers who put themselves at great risk every day, especialy in the winter storms, for no financial gain. True heroes.
