I met this man in Kiev, Ukraine, three years ago. He was begging outside the main train station. It was pouring with rain . He was soaked right through. His cup was empty. We communicated for a few minutes, neither of us understanding eachother. All he said to me repeatedly was "F--ck Life". I took it to be his story. I looked in his eyes. I gave him some money and took him out of the rain. He was so grateful. He let me take his picture. We hugged. We parted as friends. I don't know his name or what became of him. I just pray that tonight he and his compatriots are safe.
