My favourite pictures of 2023 – part 2

Continuing with a few more of my favourite shots from last year. I hope you like them.

One of the last pictures of the year. Shot on Dec 29. This was at a boatyard not too far from home. It was the striking colours that grabbed me as well as the symmetry.

One of the first pictures of the year. Sunset in Lanzarote, January 2023.

A flight taking off from Manchester airport into dramatic , moody skies.

Sandhills station platform, a few miles out of Liverpool City Centre. Shot into the sun on a really bright November morning.

Spectators watching the RAF Fly past over the River Mersey of the Lancaster bomber and Spitfire and Hurricane fighter planes. This was part of the Battle of the Atlantic 80th memorial event in May.

This is the National Mining Museum in the Yorkshire town of Overton. Now a working museum with 1hr trips into the coal mine itself, the museum is free and offers a memory of bygone days when life was hard.

Modern offices on the Liverpool waterfront. The symmetry, shapes and shadows attracted me to take this shot. Despite it originally being shot in colour it was always destined to become monochrome.

Monmartre in Paris. One of my Paris street images and one that i feel conveys the atmosphere and feeling of the area.
